Making Cod Recipes the Easy Way


Making cod recipes can be confusing as there are so many types to choose from. These recipes should help you learn how to prepare cod while serving up a tasty meal.

Salted Cod Cakes

Ingredients

2 potatoes (large, cubed and peeled)

1/2 cup of chopped fresh parsley

1 teaspoon of any seafood seasoning

1 pound of salted cod fish

2 beaten eggs

1 chopped onion

¼ cup of olive oil

½ cup of all-purpose flour

Instructions

Put the fish in a bowl and put cold water over it. Store it in the fridge for 8 hours. Replace the water every two hours. After 8 hours, rinse the cod in cold water. Chop into 1 inch pieces. Put the fish and potatoes in a pot.

When making cod recipes like this, you've got to pour water over the fish and potatoes. Boil at high heat then reduce it to medium-low. Cover and allow it to simmer for 20 minutes. Let it cool for 10 minutes.

Put the fish and potatoes in a bowl. Add the pepper, fish seasoning and parsley. Mix it with a potato masher. Stir in the onions and eggs. Shape them into balls and flatten a bit. Heat the oil in a skillet over medium high heat.

Keep cooking until the cakes turn brown. This will take about 3 minutes each side. After making cod recipe, drain it on a plate with paper towels.

Cod Pretzel

Ingredients

4 (4 ounce) of cod fillets

1/3 cup of light salad dressing

1 teaspoon of salt

2 tablespoons of cooking oil

4 ounces of pretzels

1 teaspoon of seasoned salt

2/3 cup of apricot low sugar preserves 4 teaspoons of half-and-half

1 tablespoon of Dijon mustard

2 tablespoons of minced parsley

Instructions

Mix the salad dressing and salt in a bowl. Chop the pretzels into small pieces. Put the pretzels in a dish. Put the salad dressing on the cod's sides. Top it off with the pretzels. Heat a couple of tablespoons of oil in a frying pan.

To continue making cod recipe, sauté the cod for 4 minutes each side. The cod should be kept warm. Get another bowl. Mix the half and half and Dijon mustard at medium high heat. Whisk the apricot. Keep cooking until the mixture gets thick. Serve the sauce with the fish. Add the parsley as you serve it.

Avocado Fish Tacos

Ingredients

2 avocados, pitted and peeled

1/4 cup flour

¼ cup of oil

Salt and pepper

1/3 cup of poppy seed dressing

1 lb of fish chopped into 2" slices

2 tablespoons lime juice

Corn tortillas

2 cups of cabbage

Instructions

Cut the avocados in small chunks. Spray it with lime juice. Toss the cabbage and poppy seed dressing in a bowl. Mix flour, salt and pepper in a bowl. Put the fish chunks in it. Cook the fish chunks until they're brown. Put the cabbage in tortillas and top with fish and avocado.

Making cod recipes can be challenging at times. But as these recipes show, it doesn't always have to be the case.
